Real Estate Final Inspection: What They Check
Final inspections usually move quickly. Agents often check high-risk areas first, then scan for detail issues. If you prepare these zones in order, you reduce most common disputes.
Kitchen
Oven, cooktop, splashback, sink, cupboard interiors, and visible grease residue.
Bathrooms
Shower glass, taps, grout lines, vanity, mirrors, toilet, and odour control.
Floors
Vacuum/mop finish, corners, under furniture zones, and visible marks.
Windows
Internal glass clarity, tracks, and sill dust buildup.
General detail
Skirting boards, switches, door handles, cobwebs, and rubbish removal.
Before handover
- Use a room-by-room checklist and close each room completely before moving on.
- Photograph condition immediately after cleaning.
- Keep keys, receipts, and inspection notes in one place for quick follow-up.
